Ahopa, Inc- Friends of the Lakota Nation

Dedicated to the Well-Being and Empowerment of Lakota People

  Ahopa is a charitable and volunteer service organization focusing its 

  efforts on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota - which is

  home to some of the poorest communities in the United States.   

  Ahopa will primarily concentrate in four areas:

         Develop, promote, and administer charitable programs and projects 

         that assist Lakota people with basic needs such as food, clothing, 

         shelter, household items, medical transportation, and school 

         supplies

         Support the preservation of Lakota language, culture and spiritual

         traditions by offering assistance to elders and community leaders 

         who live in the cultural and spiritual traditions of the Lakota people

         Support the empowerment of Lakota people by partnering with them to

         create and manage programs to benefit their communities

         Increase public awareness of the issues and challenges facing the 

         Lakota Nation today through educational presentations and events
